Health and Safety Policy statement

Dynamics Gymnastics recognises the duties it has under health and safety acts and regulations to ensure the safety, health and well being of gymnasts, coaches and helpers when they are involved in club business.

In particular, it recognises its responsibilities to:

- Provide a safe and healthy training environment for gymnasts and coaches through assessing the risks associated with participation and controlling them to ensure they are minimised.

- Ensure that adequate arrangements are in place in the event of accident, fire or other incident.

- Ensure that coaches and helpers have appropriate gymnastic/trampolining coaching training.

- Keep the arrangements under review and introducing additional measures considered necessary and are reasonably practicable in relation to the operation of the clubs business.

Message to parents

Please note that the coaches at Dynamics Gymnastics believe their job is made easier if parents are not present in the gymnasium during the sessions.  If there are exceptional circumstances and you feel your presence is necessary, please make yourself and the reason known to the Head Coach.

If you wish to speak to one of the coaches, they will be available at the beginning and end of each session unless leading a warm up.  In this situation, please speak to an available coach.

We feel it is vitally important that your children return safely to you at the end of each session.  As such, coaches will monitor gymnasts leaving at the end of each session and look after gymnasts remaining inside the gymnasium.  Please help us with this process by informing a coach if someone not recognisable to us is due to collect your child.

Thank you for your co-operation in these matters.

Rules and safety code

- Do not wear loose clothing.  Leotards, leggings, shorts and t-shirts are all appropriate.  It is also advisable to wear a tracksuit to warm up in.

- Feet should be bare (only gym slippers are otherwise acceptable).

- Long hair must be tied back.

- Remove all jewellery.

Session procedures and rules

- At the beginning of each session, wait outside the gymnasium until invited in by a coach.

- On entering the gymnasium, sit on the mat area.

- Listen carefully and respond appropriately to instructions given by coaches.

- Always report a breakage or accident immediately.

- Do not eat or chew during gymnastics classes (bottled water is permitted).

- Never try new skills without permission.

- Help, encourage and co-operate with other gymnasts.

- Try your best in all activities.

- Wait in the gymnasium at the end of your session until a parent has arrived to collect you.
